A nasopharyngeal airway, also known as an NPA or a nasal trumpet is designed to be inserted into the nasal passageway to secure an open airway. When a patient becomes unconscious, the muscles in the jaw commonly relax and can allow the tongue to slide back and obstruct the airway. The NPA provides a passageway for ventilation, increasing the delivery of air to the back of the pharyngeal area.
The Well Lead Nasopharyngeal Airways are available in 16 sizes to ensure a good fit for any patient. They are 100% latex free and have a soft, rounded beveled tip to minimise the potential for airway trauma.

An oropharyngeal airway (also known as an oral airway, OPA or Guedel pattern airway) is a medical device used to maintain an open airway. It does
this by preventing the tongue from covering the epiglottis. It also provides a defined passageway for ventilation, increasing the delivery of air to the back of the pharyngeal area.
